Character Name: Oda Nobunaga
Species: Human in denial that he is not in fact the one the only the first Maou: Devil King of 6th Heaven

Character Age: Somewhere between 30 and 45. It's purposely ambiguous
CRAU: Yes!
CRAU Explanation: His paranoia on 24/7 assassination attempts isn't gone, but it is severely decreased, with an edge of appreciating allies he's made. He's learned how to make FRIENDS, but he's still trying to learn what to do with them once you have them, and how to treat people who aren't in your army. He's seen the completion of his lifelong dream: to bring Japan to a point of competition with the world stage, and abolish castes, and seen to as much of the future of Japanese society as Mai (who rescued him in the manga/stage play canon) came from. The prosperity and peace of the future.

He also met Klaus Hargreaves from Umbrella Academy and fell hard and fast in love, and married him. The Number 4 is considered taboo in Japanese society, especially in the Feudal era, and Nobunaga went even more heretical and added a 4 tattoo to himself (turning himself into an untouchable, but he was arguably damn close to one to begin with). He became a bit of a fanboy for new media art after a Miyazaki set of movies showing (canonically and historically he wanted to promote Japanese culture and art for economic dominance) and devoured a lot of books: mostly as it had relevance to him (time travel, wormholes, sci-fi, Cat's Cradle for the cults, and anything about social justice). His canonical (and historical) thirst for knowledge was never satiated (it can't be), but he worked DAILY to try to catch himself up to the 2000s and imagine the worlds beyond. He did resolve a LOT of his issues with his siblings and the things he had to do to them (including murder and exile), and was given a huge opportunity to just be himself without fears, and he seized it like he did everything else as a conqueror. Very significantly, Nobunaga managed to resolve his desire to kill God(s) and extreme distrust of magic, though he's still innately skeptical, he came to accept aliens, timeline divergences, (he already knew about wormholes in canon) and that oni exist in SOME timelines even if not his own. He also got really into karaoke, both because it's Japanese and he felt obligated, but also because Crichton, (his first best friend!) he met Klaus through it, and he wanted to overcome his "shyness" of worrying about his position as Demon King etc.

Powers and Abilities: None. He will pretend into infinity he's totally maou and very very demonic, and even say he traded his soul for power (he didn't believe in souls, but it's the only way someone could be anchored to the ship!) but he's human and does, in fact, know it.
What Did Your Character Wish For? Freedom, peace, and prosperity for all sentient peoples in all timelines. A very casual normal thing, not insanely ambitiously over the top, no. /s He'd be a bit suspicious if told this was doable, and definitely try to figure out the catch(es). If told that's too big, he wouldn't be surprised at all! Instead just negotiate from there with his bottom line being getting Tayrey free and back to her timeline unharmed without causing kugelblitz (world/timeline destroying paradoxes) and a capacity to bring Klaus with him to find their "happy destiny."

Character Questions:
1. Who is the person your character is most bonded with from their canon? Or who is someone they miss the most? Canon: Hideyoshi. Nobunaga wouldn't necessarily be cognizant of it until after he left Japan, and then had to face being truly apart from his right hand man for the first time ever. CRAU: Klaus. The month they were fighting and not speaking was devastating on Nobunaga, and it was only through Arilanna Tayrey protecting him that he was able to stay sane and not completely broken.

2. What are they most afraid of? Assassination attempts while sleeping. // + Failing Japan, either Japan winding up with a "bad end" timeline of the monks "winning" and becoming even more caste structured, oppressive, and religiously obsessed, with emphasis on propriety and not fun or art, or straight up more like the Peacekeepers from Farscape.

3. What is their weakness? Emotionally, mentally and physically? Nobunaga can get really thrown off when he has a failure to calculate for something important. (Happens with canonical battles, and in CRAU: the "trial" most notably) -- he THINKS he's genuinely evil (he's not), embraces being hated even though he knows the cost and that it's not as effective as he needs/wants. He is actually pretty childish (extremely emotionally stunted from trauma) and his sense of humor is not the best. He's overly fond of sweets, and not 1/1000th as stealthy as he thinks. He's stubborn, (literally what maou of 6th Heaven means) has a short temper and will behead people for getting in his way, and can actually cry pretty quickly because he is very bad at understanding and processing his emotions, and is in denial that even HAS emotions beyond a general anger at injustice.

Physically he's 100% human. And yet with a denial of REALITY so he constantly charges gods (literally) and tries to fight them. He's gotten a little used to the idea that he can never quite compete on that level so he has to compete with his brains and ambitions, and motivating humanity to not need gods instead. (Story of his life.)

4. What would make them happiest? Klaus and Nobunaga spent a lot of time having to convince each other that they didn't deserve misery, and deserved happiness, or at the bare minimum deserved to allow and accept happiness when it found them. This is a big reason Nobunaga genuinely needs Klaus and they are able to get through to each other in a way almost no else can. What he wants (see wish) is to free Tayrey like he promised, continue to ensure the right direction for Japan and thus Earth humanity -- but even in canon, Nobunaga just needs to finish unifying Japan and finally be free enough to travel the world(s) as was his lifelong dream and desperate desire.

5. What’s their type for a lover? Fearless. "Wahahaha, of course the bride of the Demon King would have to be uncommonly brave!" Canonically, he wants a challenge. Someone who tells him (often!) when he's going too far (which is always) and is stubborn enough not to let him intimidate them. They have to be brilliant enough not to keep up with him, but to not lose his interest, and insightful enough to understand he's actually carrying a lot of pain he himself doesn't recognize. They also have to be willing to be heretical, willing to use their bravery to put their convictions on the line and speak openly whether to Nobunaga or the general public in order to protect someone's life. And indeed, they MUST value life very highly (ironically!) Canonically they should also be any degree of a masochist, even the devs straight up acknowledge this. He also prefers them to like art, color, blur the lines of gender, cultural, social structural norms (Kichou is the name of his IRL wife, who is a man in canon, but even historically, there are questions if she was transgender, and Ranmaru was his historical IRL devoted lover, both of whom constantly defied the norms! Historically and canonically!) and walks a line between someone he can fight with (Kichou) or someone who is a revolutionary culturally (Ranmaru) and willing to push the limits imposed by any world. For the most part it's less about Nobunaga's type as what kind of strong person can deal with him, since it's not easy! They also can't be too clingy, despite Nobunaa's own possessive "oni kidnapping" tendencies, because canonically, Nobunaga has a country to run, and CRAU still feels compelled to see his dream of the better future come true, no matter what he has to do, sacrifice, or force to make it happen.
